Change Site Permissions

To use certain features of Animoto like webcam or screen recording you will need to allow permissions first. Permissions are how you let your computer know that you want Animoto to access other parts of your computer.

Allowing Permissions in Chrome:

You have a few ways to allow site permissions on Google Chrome. When you select a recording option, you will be prompted to allow permissions. If you don’t see this option, you may need to allow popups.

Chrome will automatically prompt you to grant the necessary permissions. Once you choose Allow, you’re all ready to share!

You can also allow site permission in Chrome via the browser’s site settings.  To access Animoto’s site settings on Chrome, click on the lock icon next to the URL, and select site settings from the menu that appears. You need to allow Camera and Microphone to use Screen and Webacam recording. When you’re done, exit the site settings page and refresh Animoto to apply your changes.

Allowing Permissions in Firefox:

In Firefox, when you select a recording option, you will be prompted to allow permissions. If you don’t see this option, you may need to allow popups.

You can choose your preferred input device from the popup menu that appears. Once you’ve selected the camera and/or microphone you want to use click allow, and you’re ready to record!
