Adjust the Timing and Length of your Video

The length of your Animoto 3 video is determined by the total duration of all of your blocks. If you want to extend the timing of each block, make your video fit the music, or slow them down to make your blocks stay longer, use the + or - icons in the lower right corner of a text or media block. If you need to adjust the timing of all blocks to make your video longer, you can do that in the block timeline at the bottom of the project workspace.

Animoto 3 videos can be up to 50 minutes in length. You can change the total length of your video by changing the timing of the blocks in your project. Each block can be as long as you want (within the maximum video length).

You can check your video duration in the video timeline at the bottom of the Workspace.

Change the timing and length of individual blocks

If you need to change the duration of just one block, you can change the timing by clicking the plus or minus sign in the bottom right corner of that block. Or you can click on the duration time and type in the length.

For blocks with video clips, the +and - icons will set the duration of the block regardless of the length of your clips. You can also set your block duration to automatically match the length of video clips by clicking on the snap to fit tool.

Change the length of all blocks at once

You can change the length of multiple blocks at once by holding Shift while selecting the blocks in the timeline at the bottom of the Workspace. From the menu that appears, type the block duration that you want, and hit enter to apply your changes!

Quick note: When setting the timing for all blocks at once, you will only be able to set all blocks for the longest duration of the shortest video clip. If you need to extend your block to be longer than the shortest video clip, you can use the + and - icon to change the block duration.
