Transitions are the visual effects that move one block into another one. You can set the transition between block using a variety of styles to match your video's look, add visual interest, or highlight important moments. Click on the circle icon between the block in the timeline at the bottom of your project workspace and select a transition to preview it instantly. You can also choose none for no animation.
What are Transitions?
Transitions are how one block connects to the next one. Your transitions add motion between blocks and can help set the style and feel of your video! You have full creative control to choose different transitions from the same style, or mix it up with a combination of styles.
How to Use Transitions
Transitions add movement to your video, add a creative flair, and help keep your visuals engaging! Each transition style has several variants attached to it so you can keep your design consistent without being repetitive.
Our Classic, Accent, Slide, Wipe, and Fade transitions are more classic styles that look great on most videos. If you wanted something bolder, try using the Fade, Zoom In, Jump Cut, Torn Paper, Film Strip, or Brush Strokes styles!
💡Animoto Team tip: Try applying a bolder style to add emphasis to a block you want to highlight!
How to Apply Transitions
Click on the circle icon between your blocks in the project timeline at the bottom of your project workspace to open the transition menu. Click on the transition variant name to apply it and see a preview of how the transition will look between your selected blocks. If you prefer the next block to display without any animated transition select None.
