Media Frames

Media frames are the movable, flexible placeholders that hold your images and video clips. Every Media Frame can be fully customized: adjust the size, position, shape, opacity, rotation, timing, and transition style to get exactly the look you want. You can add up to 10 Media Frames per block. This article will walk you through how to get the most out of how your images and video clips appear.

What is a Media Frame?

A media frame is the container that holds your images and video clips within a block. When you add an image to a block, a media frame is created automatically. From there you can customize the frame, how your video clips and images transition, and how long it appears in the block.

Note: Media frames are only available in Animoto 3. If you don't see the option to add a Media Frame or adjust the transition settings you may be using our legacy editor.

How to add a Media Frame

When you drag an image from the Media Library, a Media Frame will be created automatically. You can also click on the Media Frame icon on the left hand side of the block to open the menu to select the kind of Media Frame you want to add to your block.

Choosing the right Media Frame

You can browse from our selection of Media Frames to find the one that best matches your video's style. Frames are organized by style. You can stay within your video's current style by selecting a Classic Shapes frame, or explore other styles using the dropdown menu next to where it says Classic Shapes. Different styles will have different available placeholders, so you can mix and match to the find the one that works best for you!

Transitions and adding movement to your images

Each Media Frame also has its own transition style that determines how your image or video clip appears in the block. Some styles, like Clean have no movement at all. Other styles, like Zoom In will give you a Ken Burns type of effect when your media transitions in. Hover your mouse over each placeholder to preview the transition.
